Rialto Police Department

Designed for modern public safety needs, this campus combines functional design with a people-focused approach.

Rialto PD 16

This 62,217-square-foot public safety campus was delivered through a collaboration between Griffin Structures, LPA Design Studios, and Swinerton Construction. The project includes a 50,814-square-foot Main Operations building and an 11,403-square-foot Support facility, designed to balance operational efficiency with staff well-being.

The Main Operations building serves as the central hub for patrol, investigations, dispatch, administration, and public-facing functions, with a range of conference rooms, interview spaces, and multipurpose areas. The Support building accommodates training, storage, specialized functions such as kennels and a firing range, and additional office space.

A key design goal was to create a spacious, modern environment that reflects the department’s commitment to service, organization, and community presence. This vision was brought to life through a comprehensive furniture strategy that prioritizes flexibility, ergonomics, and durability. Private offices feature solutions like Knoll Cove Private Office and Knoll Reff Private Office, while open areas utilize Knoll Dividends and Herman Miller Workstations with freestanding storage.

Ergonomic seating was a central focus, incorporating the Embody Chair, Setu Chair, Verus Chair, and Pronta Chair to support a variety of work styles. Collaborative and meeting spaces are equipped with Headway Tables, tables from Davis Furniture, and integrated storage from Herman Miller Storage and Aurora Storage. Additional elements such as Formaspace benching, Clarus glassboards, and monitor arms from Humanscale enhance functionality and organization, while lounge areas are softened with pieces like the Arcadia Sofa.

The impact of the design was most evident during the final walkthrough, when the client experienced the completed space and began to envision how it would improve daily operations and overall work life. The result is a cohesive, future-ready environment that supports both performance and people.
