Los Alamitos Rossmoor Library
G|M Business Interiors creates a welcoming hub where history, culture, and modern design come together.
The Los Alamitos Library has been reimagined as a community hub that honors the city’s rich history while supporting modern learning and engagement. G|M Business Interiors furnished the 11,277-square-foot space—including a 1,188-square-foot Program Room addition—with products from Herman Miller, NaughtOne, Arcadia, HON, and ERG.
The renovation expands beyond the main library to include a Staff Workroom, Librarian’s Office, and Study Rooms, along with the new Program Room designed to host a range of community events. Drawing inspiration from the meaning of Los Alamitos—“The Little Cottonwoods”—and the Plains Indians’ lore of stars caught in cottonwood branches, the design features radial furniture layouts and concentric flooring patterns that symbolize movement, connection, and light.
Reflecting on the project, G|M Account Manager Theresa Cummins stated, “We love how the radial pattern of the stacks provides both direction and visibility through the space. It was such a wonderful experience collaborating with a talented design team to create this beautiful library.”
