Gensler San Diego
G|M Business Interiors furnished the interior of Gensler's new San Diego office featuring a variety of collaborative areas and bold graphics.
G|M Business Interiors partnered with Dempsey Construction to create an innovative workplace for Gensler's new San Diego office. Gensler's culture and commitment to health and wellbeing were integral pieces to the design strategies, as they worked towards pursuing WELL Gold and LEED Platinum.
The project transformed the envelope of a legacy office building; promoting the office's studio culture, enhancing community engagement, and advocating for sustainability, health, and wellness in the new studio. To support Gensler’s collaborative culture, a section of the second floor was removed to allow a grand stair to connect the ground floor to the second-floor workspace. The mid landing of the stair is a cantilevered extension of the mezzanine and houses Gensler’s vast material resource library. Designers and guests can meet informally on the landing, within the main kitchen and break area, or enjoy the new outdoor roof terrace overlooking the recently renovated Horton Plaza Park. Other features include a patio, height-adjustable desks, bikes for travel to downtown meeting locations, showers, lockers, and healthy nutritional options.
In addition to providing the new furniture for Gensler's new office, G|M also completed their move. We moved cataloged furniture from multiple floors to their new location in addition to coordinating the packing of their materials/fabric and high-density area. Cable management was a top priority for Gensler. We efficiently managed their cables during the re-connection of their computers. A total of (85) people were successfully moved during this project.
