Affirmed Housing - Villas on the Park
G|M Business Interiors furnished a bright and sunny affordable housing complex located in Downtown San Jose.
In partnership with HA Builders and Dahlin Group Architecture, G|M Business Interiors assisted in furnishing the interior of Affirmed Housing's new "Villas on the Park" affordable housing complex located in downtown San Jose. Villas on the Park is one of the first all-supportive housing communities in Santa Clara County. As a permanent supportive housing development, Villas on the Park offers social services for the formerly chronically homeless earning 30-50 percent of the area median income (AMI). This fun and heartfelt project was led by Account Executive Brittany Dambrose and feature products from a variety of manufacturers including Herman Miller, HAY, OFS, National, SitOnIt, Design Within Reach, Dickson, and others.
"I was given free creative reign on this project." said Dambrose. "I pulled inspiration from the exterior of the building which had pops of yellow and red. The service provider PATH, is such a light to the residents, and I definitely drew inspiration from them. I wanted residents to feel the light from the moment they walked in. I kept everything bright and sunny to evoke a feeling of happiness and comfort."
The complex features 83 supportive homes, with service provided by PATH, and a manager's apartment. The six-story, GreenPoint Rated building offers large community spaces, offices for resident services management, a rooftop terrace with garden plots for residents, bicycle storage, a large teaching kitchen, and a unique flex space to accommodate a variety of enhanced services.
